The Course
Philosophy and Model for Youth Ministry
In this course the youth and student worker will learn a philosophy of ministry and a training model for youth ministry programming. The following questions will be answered:
- Why does my student ministry program do things the way they do?
- How do I make sure our youth ministry is meeting the needs of all the youth, both Christian and non-Christian?
- How do I build leaders?
- How do we make sure student ministry is balanced and yet not overloaded with too many activities?
The Facilitator for the first course
Dr. Gary Almon will be here to lead this course. He is the Associate Director for the Center for Youth Ministry at Boyce College at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Dr. Almon has decades of experience in student ministry that he will be sharing with those who take part in this course. He is also a husband a father to five girls.
An Introductory and Promotional Course will be offered on July 18, 2009 (Sat)
Starting at 9.00 am and ending at 4:00 p.m.
Questions and Answers on Enrolling in the Full Program or Certain Courses Only
1. How can I benefit from the Program?
- You can sign up for the complete program of 10 courses or you can participate in only certain courses of your choice
2. What is the entry requirement for admission into the Full Certificate Program?
- You have obtained a minimum of 10 years of education
- You are prepared to do some homework after every course
- You submit a completed Admission Form with a fee of RM100.00
3. What are the requirements for completing the Full Certificate Program?
- Complete the 10 prescribed courses and the appropriate assignments
- Pay a tuition fee of RM60.00 per course. You pay on the day of the course
- Pay RM200.00 on completion of the full program as Graduating Fee
4. What are the requirements for taking selected courses?
- Inform MBTS-KV office by email in advance you are taking a particular course
- Pay an Audit Fee of RM100/- per course
5. Is the credit earned from the Certificate Program transferable to the MBTS regular program?
- The work done in the Certificate level is not transferable to the other programs offered by MBTS. See www.mbts.net.my for more information.
