Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary, Penang is pleased to host a round-table session and to offer a Master-level and Doctor of Ministry "self-study" course on the above subject with Dr Stanley Lim as Main Facilitator.

A Round-table Discussion is opened to interested pastors and church administrators

Date: Tuesday, 23 March 2010, 11:15 am - 4:00 pm (inclusive of lunch)

Issues that Dr Stanley Lim has suggested include, appraisal, multiple staff development , leadership styles, succession plan,& mentoring. Participants may bring other issues to the table. The purpose of the round-table discussion is not to provide solution but to recognize the issues and challenges that pastors and church leaders face as administrators of today's churches in the Malaysian context.

A 2 credit course will be conducted over two weeks and include participation of the Round-table Session. The course will begin with participation of the Round-table Session on Tuesday, 23 March and class session will begin on Wed 24th at 8:00 am. Classes will be 4 hours a day from 24th - 26th and 30th - 2nd April (until 10:00 am only)

A Doctor of Ministry self-study approach for the course is available with a meeting with the facilitator on Monday 22nd (2:00 pm - 4:00 pm), Tuesday 23rd (8:00 - 9:45 am) and participation of the Round-table session. Students will complete the rest of requirements through self study and personal mentoring.

Bio-data of Rev Dr Stanley Lim

Rev. Dr. Stanley Lim has been in full-time Christian ministry for the past 29 years. He has served as Associate Pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly of God, a church of 3,400+ worshippers from June 1999 - August 2009. Currently, he is the Principal of GT School of Ministries, a church-based Bible training institute of Glad Tidings Assembly of God. Previously, Dr. Lim has also served as senior pastor of 3 of Malaysia's thriving churches in Kuala Lumpur, Penang & Klang respectively. He served as Dean of Students & professor of ministry at the Bible College of Malaysia from 1991-1995. Dr. Lim graduated with a Master in Divinity (M.Div.) from the Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary, Penang in 1991 and with a Doctorate in Ministry (D.Min) in Pastoral Leadership & Care in the Congregation from the Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, Lombard, Illinois, USA in 1996. He is also a visiting professor to 8 bible colleges & seminaries in the Asia Pacific region, teaching in the areas of Pastoral Leadership, Marriage, Home & Family studies. He is married to Irene, an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God of Malaysia and they have 3 grown children, Julie (27 yrs.), Jefferey (22 yrs.) and John (20 yrs.).
